 Guiding Principles for Business

  • Our patients come first. Always do what’s best for patients.
  • Set the right culture from the beginning. This is achieved by investing in hiring the right type of leaders (must have a servant’s heart) and providing on-going leadership and management training.
  • In service of our workforce. I believe in order for our field staff to conduct themselves professionally and competently, we must demonstrate consistent support for their educational and workplace goals. This starts during orientation and must be maintained throughout their tenure with our organizations.
  • Operate ahead of the business. EMS can be a chaotic business environment filled with daily challenges.  However, many of the obstacles can be anticipated based on historical experience, and therefore can be prevented or overcome by proactive management.  Maintaining forward looking discipline can help avoid “surprises”.
  • In God I trust, all else bring data. We must inspect what we expect or we will most assuredly not achieve the results we seek.  In other words, consistent tracking of clinical, operational, and financial key performance indicators is fundamental to understanding the efficiency and effectiveness of our businesses.
  • Communicate continuously. The company mission, core values, and operating standards must be openly shared and reinforced through words and deeds on a daily basis.
