1.03.10 Credentials (Revised 10/2020)
OVERVIEW
All Medical Assistants, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Advanced EMTs, EMT Intermediates, Cardiac Technicians, Paramedics, Critical Care Paramedics, Advanced Practice Providers, Respiratory Therapists, and Emergency Medical Dispatchers and other licensed or certified personnel are required to maintain certification at their highest level of licensure or certification. EMT’s, AEMTs, EMT-Is and EMD’s are required to maintain current BCLS in the standards of the American Heart Association. C.T.s and Paramedics are required to maintain current BCLS and ACLS in accordance with the standards of the American Heart Association.
SECTION A
If an associate’s licensure or certification expires, the associate will be suspended without pay and will not be reinstated until said licensure or certification has been made current, or when the associate can show proof that they have taken the required course (class roster, letter from teacher).
Recertification is the associate’s responsibility. It will be the responsibility of each associate to make sure that his/her recertification information is received by the appropriate licensing agency, prior to expiration deadlines, and that a copy is given to their Shift Commander to remain on file.
SECTION B
Amerimed will provide opportunity to aid in maintenance of licensure, certification and continuing education as per our 1.03.07 Continuing Education policy.
