Michael Colman’s first exposure to EMS was in high school when taking a first responder class at the Roswell Fire Department where his father volunteered.  After high school, Colman attended EMT and medic school, completing paramedic in 1993.  He’s worked in rural, suburban, urban, helicopter, and fire-based EMS.  Most of his field experience was working urban EMS at Grady and HEMS at Georgia Baptist.

Colman taught paramedic classes at Gwinnett Technical College in the early 2000s where he first met Dixon Marlow, as one of the Advisory Committee members.  After completing his degrees and moving on from teaching,  Michael served in leadership roles at Prioirty EMS in Buford Georgia, Grady EMS in Atlanta Georgia, Richmond Ambulance Authority in Richmond Virginia, Volusia County EMS in Daytona Beach Florida, and a hospital-based system in South Georgia. 

Colman has been married for 27 years and has two German Shepherds, and the family loves to travel and RV camping.
