Rick Slaven
General Manager, Tennessee

Rick Slaven is the General Manager for Tennessee at Amerimed EMS, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and a strong commitment to servant leadership. Starting his career as a driver in EMS, Rick has advanced through roles of increasing responsibility, including Paramedic Training Program Director, EMS Training Officer, and, most recently, Director of Students and Academic Advancement for a medical school.
Rick holds a master’s degree in training and development from Middle Tennessee State University and is a Critical Care Paramedic certified in Trauma and Resilience through Florida State University. In 2021, he was honored with the Gold Foundation Humanistic Care Award for his efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rick is also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), a national leadership honor society recognizing exemplary leadership and character.

An accomplished speaker, he has delivered over 100 presentations nationwide on topics such as cardiology in EMS, leadership, and trauma-informed practices. Guided by a personal philosophy encapsulated in the words, “Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can,” Rick strives to empower his team and ensure the highest standards of patient care.
